The god of this world has influenced humanity ever since the Garden of Eden. Along with his persuasive power, mankind has created gods to worship through civilizations. Whenever we minimize the Word of God, these fake gods rise to the forefront of nations and people groups and more people into dark places.
Baal, Ishtar, and Molech are three prominent gods in the Old Testament that Israel at times ran toward. Worshiping these gods always pulled Israel away from the One True God.
Things haven't changed in our culture today. These gods rise up when we put down God. Their evil influence leads many away from the truth to believe in a lie.
Baal worship focuses on worshiping other deities. Ishtar is focused on sensual, sexual pleasure and confusing gender identities, and Molech has no regard for babies. These three gods are active today as then. Worshiping other gods rather than God is the goal of Baal, exploring sensual, sexual paths not designed by God is where Ishtar wants to take people, and killing children is Molech's goal rather than preserving life.
