Genesis STEAM Homeschool Co-op (STEAM) is a homeschooling co-op for preschool (2’s) through 12th grade. The goal of STEAM is to provide our children with educational opportunities that promote academic excellence as well as spiritual development. STEAM teaches that God is the ultimate authority, scripture is sufficient, and that every person was created with a purpose.
Genesis STEAM meets Mondays for thirty weeks beginning in mid-August and ending in mid-April. Each co-op day begins a 9 am and ends at 12:10 pm with optional electives offered after lunch. During this time STEAM provides three academic classes: English, History, and Science.
STEAM is not a “drop-off” program. In fact, it is only by the active involvement of our parents, and the extreme generosity of the church, that STEAM is able to keep our cost low. Parents are required to teach or co-teach a class and assist in a class. Support and help are available to all parents who need it. Each parent will have one free period during the co-op morning.

In history, students will explore our great nation’s history from the beginning to current events. We will discover what life was like for the natives and explorers, find out what made the founding fathers fight, and why the pioneers would be willing to go into uncharted territory for a chance at land of their own. They will also learn how our nation navigated foreign affairs following the Revolution and into war times.
Scientists get ready! We will cover a wide array of science studies this year. Some students will participate in dissections to learn about animal anatomy, find out how plants grow, and how God created the world to work. Students will perform multiple experiments to understand how the world around us works and how God is the creator of science.
During the year students will be challenged to improve their writing skills, grammar, and reading comprehension through classics and contemporary books as they become well-rounded students. They will solve mysteries with Sherlock Holmes, dig holes with Stanley, and try to Navigate West Egg with Nick Carraway.
Preschoolers and lower elementary students will develop their reading skills through phonics and fun learning activities. They will get to read stories and the Bible to build their reading and comprehension skills as well as foster a love of learning and for God’s Word.
