school year is now open

  • Genesis STEAM Homeschool Co-op (STEAM) is a homeschooling co-op for birth through 12th grade. The goal of STEAM is to provide our children with educational opportunities that promote academic excellence as well as spiritual development. STEAM teaches that God is the ultimate authority, scripture is sufficient, and that every person was created with a purpose.

Genesis STEAM meets Mondays for thirty weeks beginning in mid-August and ending in mid-April. STEAM takes the month of December off to give our families time to focus on the birth of the Savior and spend time with their families. We have teacher game nights at least once a semester, special theme days, and field trips. The first semester ends with a family potluck dinner, and the second semester ends with a Family Night where the children show off the work they have done throughout the year and put on performances.

Each co-op day begins at 9 am and ends at 12:10 pm, with optional electives offered after lunch. During this time, STEAM provides three academic classes: English, History, and Science. We do not offer math at this time.

STEAM is not a “drop-off” program. It is only by the active involvement of our parents and the extreme generosity of the church that STEAM is able to keep our costs low. Parents are required to teach and assist in a class. Support and help are available to all parents who need them. The co-op provides any teaching guides available.

  • History

In history, students will take an exciting journey through world history from creation to the present day. They will discover how ancient civilizations first developed writing and created incredible works of art that still influence us today. Students will experience history hands-on as they design Roman aqueducts, explore how massive medieval castles were built, and learn how societies faced incredible challenges such as the plague. Along the way, they will see how the rise and fall of nations shaped cultures, ideas, and the world we live in today.

    Science

Scientists, get ready! This year students will dive into a wide variety of fascinating science studies. Through hands-on learning, students will explore animal anatomy through dissections, investigate how plants grow and thrive, and uncover the incredible design found throughout God’s creation. By conducting experiments and making observations, students will gain a deeper understanding of how the world works while recognizing God as the Creator and designer of science.

    Language Arts

Throughout the year, students will strengthen their writing, grammar, and reading comprehension through engaging classics and contemporary literature. These stories will challenge students to think critically, communicate clearly, and grow into confident, well-rounded learners with a love for reading.

    Preschool and Lower Elementary

Our preschool and lower elementary students will begin building strong reading foundations through phonics instruction and fun, engaging learning activities. As they read stories and explore the Bible, they will develop their reading and comprehension skills while growing in their love of learning and appreciation for God’s Word.
