Adam Ray grew up in a small town in Indiana, where the occasional sighting of a deer sparked dreams of one day becoming a big game hunter. His love for the outdoors began early, as he busied himself fishing and pursuing small game, even harvesting his first rabbit at the age of five.
At nine, Adam's family moved to Lansing, Michigan. Due to regulations, he had to pause his hunting until he turned twelve. During this time, he continued fishing and hunting small game with his dad. At fourteen, a man from their church took them deer hunting “up north,” igniting a lifelong passion for big game hunting. Since then, Adam has harvested 87 whitetails with a bow and many more with a firearm. His accomplishments include taking two black bears in Manitoba, one in Alaska, hunting in 13 states, and taking a large eight-point in Saskatchewan, Canada. His adventures also led him to Kodiak Island, where his party took 7 blacktail and two caribou. His most prized trophy to date is a 158” ten-point buck shot in Iowa in 2022. Adam has taken 14 Michigan deer qualifying for Pope and Young and 21 for Commemorative Bucks of Michigan.
Despite the thrill of the hunt, Adam finds greater joy in using his stories and experiences to share Christ. With a deep passion for reaching people, he leverages his loves of hunting, fishing, archery, golf, personal fitness, woodworking, and other activities to create and cultivate personal relationships for spreading the gospel.
God has opened doors for Adam to speak to individuals and groups, sharing his two greatest passions—the Gospel and Hunting. As the director of Hunting the Harvest, a ministry designed to reach outdoor enthusiasts, Adam has been asked to speak at churches and assist with their sportsman banquets.
Adam currently serves as the Executive Pastor of the Buckley Gospel Tabernacle in Buckley, MI. He has been in full-time ministry for 25 years. Adam and his wife Rachel have been married for 25 years and have four children.
