The Creative Arts Ministry at Genesis utilizes various visual arts to present biblically sound, culturally relevant, and thought-provoking material. Our goal is to allow the Holy Spirit to work deeply and personally in ways that words alone cannot fully communicate.

What We Do

  • Dance is an art form of movement. It can portray any emotion, be used as a form or worship, and tell a story. Dance crosses language barriers and can express concepts that words alone cannot. No matter the age or ability level, dance can be used powerfully for the Kingdom of God.

    Classes Offered:

    • Ballet Technique — Ballet provides the foundation for all types of dance. It increases strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility. As dancers increase proficiency in technique, they will find it easier to focus their hearts on Christ and execute a higher level of excellence.

    • Creative Fusion — Creative Fusion is a class that combines technical elements of modern technique, improvisation, contemporary, and worship. This class invites dancers to explore their own style and how to use dance in prayer, worship, communication, and intercession.

  • Drama tells a story through words, body language, and connection. Whether through a full-length production or short skit, Drama brings to life biblical accounts and concepts of biblical truth.

  • Choir blends diverse voices and beautiful hearts into a unified expression of praise and communicating a message or story. Through harmony, teamwork, and spiritual growth, Choir members use the gift of music to inspire, encourage, and uplift both our church family and the community.

  • Similar to Dance, Flags are an art form of movement. They are used powerfully in worship and presentation settings. With movements primarily done with the arms and little to no floor work, flagging provides a way for all ages to worship through movement.

    • Flags in Worship — Flagging is less of a technique and more of a learned experience. This time is open for flaggers to gather and worship together while receiving guidance from more seasoned artists as the Thursday Worship Team practices for the service. If flaggers would like to stay for the service and join in again during the worship time, they are invited to do so. Dancers are also welcome to join in this time if they do not want to flag.

  • Puppets passionately and creatively share the messages of the Word of God. Although puppeteers go unseen, these individuals serve God with their creative abilities as the puppets and props they hold honor Christ, touch hearts, and awaken us to the glory of God.
