Therefore Grow events are dedicated to equipping women with God’s Word and practical tools to help recognize the lies of this world and Therefore Grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

We are called to be ROOTED and built up, firm in our faith, so that we will not be deceived and led astray by the lies of the world. As the world grows ever more confusing and enticing, it is even more important to dig our roots deeply into the truth of God’s Word. At this year’s event you will be encouraged to do just that as lies are exposed and truth proclaimed.  So join us and prepare to be ROOTED.

  • Hey, y’all!  I’m Jenn.  God transplanted my family to the York area 12 years ago from the great state of North Carolina.  I have been married for 27 years, have homeschooled three children, and have been blessed with a sweet daughter-in-love.  Baking, reading, spending time with my peeps, and trips to the thrift store are my ideas of fun.  I have been blessed to be the Children’s Ministry Director here at Genesis for over nine years.  My passion is to help parents embrace their role as disciple makers and see children come to have a true relationship with Jesus.

  • Hi girlfriends! I’m Cindy Foor. I have been married to my husband, Steve, for more than 45 years and have two grown children and four granddaughters. I have been active in women's ministries for more than 30 years and have published one book and am working on my second. I am a frequent speaker and Bible teacher for various women's groups, retreats, conferences, seminars and banquets. Although my teaching style includes lots of humor, that humor will never overshadow my passion to guide women to God's Word for the application of His truths to their lives.

  • Hi, there! I am married to a wonderful husband, Mike, and we will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in May. We are so humbled at the way God has blessed us! We are thankful that our two adult married children and their spouses live in the York area. I am retired, and Mike works from home which affords us the opportunity to travel and to go on new adventures. I have been active in women's ministries in various capacities here at Genesis since 1991, but I consider my greatest joy and privilege to be one of the leaders of Precept Bible studies here at Genesis. I have a desire for all Christian women to learn how to study God's word and apply it to their lives, and I am humbled to be a part of this wonderful weekend!

  • I have been investing in the lives of women for more than 20 years. I am a mentor and teacher dedicated to discipleship and encouraging women to raise their vision of who God is. My desire is to see women firmly rooted in biblical truth, built up in Christ and established in their faith in order that they may share the good news with others. I have been married for 35 years to Ron and have two adult children and two granddaughters.

  • Hello! I’m Rosemary and I have been married to my husband, Matthew, for 43 years. We have four children and six grandchildren. I have been involved in ministry to women for most of my adult life and have served as Women’s Ministry Director at Genesis Church for 20 years. I have a passion for God’s Word and for connecting with women. My greatest joy is in seeing women learn to take God at His Word and discover His transforming power in their lives.

  • Hi! I’m Lindsay, wife to my husband, Anthony, of 14 years and homeschool mom of two beautiful blessings. I’m committed to help others overcome in the victory of Jesus and live transformed lives empowered by the Holy Spirit. I stand on the authoritative Word of God and teach with passion and zeal. I’m your biggest cheerleader! I get excited about the smallest things and long to see you find true hope, deliverance, healing, and purpose in Jesus.

  • Biblical Truth: It is inevitable that you will face spiritual battles. God has much to say about this topic and we must look to Him to learn about our enemy, his tactics, the location of the battlefield, and our counterplan. You will be equipped with some practical tools to help lead you to victory and truly experience what it means to be an overcomer in Christ Jesus! - (Suggested follow up session is Equipped for Spiritual Battles)

  • Every believer will encounter spiritual battles at some point, and God provides the perfect divine protection for His children; we just have to know how to put it on and wear it every day! This session will delve deeply into the armor of God text to uncover its amazing applicability to the battles you face.

(Suggested follow up session to The Battles We Face but can also be a stand-alone session)

  • Have you ever been green with envy? While jealousy says, “I wish I had what they had,” envy says, “Why should they have what I do not have?” It is a feeling of discontent or resentfulness towards someone else whose possessions, family, qualities, or life are what you want. Envy hates to see other people happy and secretly rejoices when others fall. Proverbs 14:30 says, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.” Join this session and learn to slay the monster by applying God’s truth in your life.

  • How well do you know the Holy Spirit? What does it mean to be led by the Spirit? Are you living out of the power of the Holy Spirit or your own striving? Cultivating a relationship with the Holy Spirit is essential to godly living, sharing the gospel, and making disciples. You can be sealed with the Holy Spirit but miss out on fully experiencing the transformative power of God until you fully yield yourself and surrender to the Spirit of God. Join me in this session to get to know the Holy Spirit and how he longs to work in and through you for God’s glory.

  • We all may find ourselves in a season of longing and waiting. Waiting on God is not only difficult, but sometimes it seems impossible. A medical question remains unanswered. A big decision is yet to be made. Loneliness lingers. The prodigal child has yet to return. Waiting is the reality of the in-between – the unknown, the uncertain, the not yet. We want things to happen in our own timing, according to our plans, but God doesn’t operate on our schedules. Though waiting is difficult, it is necessary for God’s plan. We can rest assured that God is near to us and at work in us. The Bible provides ample comfort and promises blessings to those who wait. God has a greater perspective of life’s events; and His perspective, plans, and schedules are perfect and holy, because He is perfect and holy. When we grasp that fact, waiting on God is not only made less difficult, it actually becomes joyful.

  • Did you grow up accepting the theory of evolution as truth? Because scientists across the globe ALL agree that evolution is a proven fact, right? Or did you grow up believing the creation story of Genesis but feel you can’t admit that because you’ll be laughed at as a science denier? Come learn why the Genesis account of creation is not only scientifically reasonable but absolutely vital to God’s story of redemption.

  • Obedience to God proves our love for Him. We obey His commands, not because we have to, but because we want to, because we love Him. Still today, in our human attempts to look good in serving God, we get caught up in the lip service of Christianity, forgetting the fundamental importance of the actions of our faith. There is the temptation to live by our feelings and what we want rather than to truly obey God. Obedience to God is a responsibility. One is either obedient to the Word of God or disobedient; there is no in between. Obedience, the key to God’s heart, requires a change, a commitment. Come find out what it is; then reap the rewards of your obedience to God.

  • Bitterness isn’t a virus, but if it is not dealt with properly, it will spread like one. The Bible likens bitterness to a root: Hebrews 12:15 says, "See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no 'root of bitterness' springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled." Bitterness not only affects us but everyone around us. How do we know we have the root of bitterness? How do I remove the root? Join this session as we look to God’s Word to learn how to uproot the bitterness in our lives.

  • Do you have a love/hate relationship with technology? Much is good about technology. But does screen time often replace family time in your home? Does it have an unhealthy hold on you? And did you know, that for teens especially, it is hardwiring the way we connect with the world? Join us as we expose the lies technology teaches us and learn how to counter those lies with biblical truth. You CAN put technology in its rightful place.

  • So many names for the God of the universe! You will delight in discovering God's various names. Some names He assigned for Himself, and some people have given Him names in response to His goodness. As you ponder God's names and their meanings, His character will become clearer, and you will be confidently rooted in who He is through His Son, Jesus Christ!

  • Who are you? Your identity is a hot topic in today's culture. The world labels us according to the roles we play in life, the activities in which we participate, or our ideas regarding our sexuality. But is that who we are? Instead of staring at culture and glancing at God's word for answers, let's learn how to immerse ourselves in Him so that when we glance at the world's changing labels and definitions, we are firmly rooted in truth and reality . . . in Jesus.

  • How well do you know your Heavenly Father? Can you recognize His voice? Are you able to lean in to His warm embrace and hear His heart for you? As a child of God, a safe, secure, and unhindered relationship is available to you. In this session, we are going to unpack all-too-common lies and tactics of the enemy that keep us distant and hindered in our relationship with our Father. Take this time to get to know your Father for who He really is and begin experiencing the relationship you were intended to have from the beginning of time.
